Mollie Hemingway joins Dom to discuss her new book Justice on Trial. Hemingway writes of Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing and the tension surrounding the testimony of accuser Christine Blasey-Ford. Hemingway also comments on the state of the Supreme Court, and the tendency of conservative judges to move more to the center once confirmed, while far-left judges stay extremely progressive.

John Cole, Managing Editor for, called in to discuss Philadelphia’s Netroots Nation convention. The far-left event is bringing presidential candidates Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, Julian Castro and Jay Inslee to the city, along with newsmakers Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Cole runs down what will be going on at the PA Convention Center, and explains what exactly Netroots Nation is all about.

Finally, Dom tells the story of a national women’s soccer player that isn’t getting much attention. In 2017, US Soccer revealed jerseys with rainbow numbers to support LGBTQ pride. Jaelene Hinkle, one of the best defenders in the country, refused to wear the jersey due to her Christian beliefs, which forced her away from playing for the national team. Also, after a New York Times story deemed air conditioning sexist, Dom rants about how great of an invention air conditioning was in the first place, and asks listeners what their most underrated inventions are.
