PHILADELPHIA (1210 WPHT)- Following last night's Democratic debate, Eric Trump remained optimistic for his father and his campaign.

"I think we won," said Trump, in an interview with The Rich Zeoli Show. "It's funny, there's one person who wasn't on that stage and that person won last night, and that person is [Donald] Trump."

Trump criticized the new mindset of the Democratic Party, pointing to their legislative proposals as evidence this is a new party.

"This isn't the Democratic Party of JFK. I mean, let's make no mistake," said Trump. "This is a totally radical, socialist party.

"'Let's do free healthcare for all. Let's do free healthcare for 30 million illegal immigrants that have come in this country when we can't even take care of Americans that are living in the poorest neighborhoods in Baltimore and Detroit and Philadelphia.'"

"Why can't we put Americans first," asked Trump. "We should always be the most philanthropic country in the world. That's who we are as Americans. But what's wrong with putting our nation before others and the citizens of this nation before others?"

“My father is the one person in the world who does not need this job,” Trump observed.  “You see how he gets hit every single day, you see the toll it takes on the family. You see how they come after me, my two-year-old child. They come after Barron [Trump], who’s a young boy. It’s crazy, but we’re gonna fight like Hell…we’re going to win this thing again.

“I couldn’t be more proud of my father. He’s done a phenomenal, phenomenal job for this nation.”
