PHILADELPHIA (1210 WPHT)- Big changes may be coming down the pike for trade.

Adam Kennedy, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Communications at the White House, told The Rich Zeoli Show about the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

“What this does is even the playing field,” said Kennedy of the agreement (abbreviated as the USMCA). “The United States is going to let in goods and services from Canada and Mexico, and Canada and Mexico are going to let in goods from the United States.”

Kennedy spoke highly of the deal, exclaiming it would “really benefit every single American.”

Kennedy elaborated on how the USMCA would benefit Pennsylvanians.

“I think they can look forward to more factories and manufacturing plants opening up…as Mexico no longer has the advantage of cheap labor,” said Kennedy.

“They can look forward to their farmers having more access to the Canadian market. I think they can look forward to their intellectual property being strongly protected so that no longer can a Mexican company or a Canadian company copy their ideas.”
