PHILADELPHIA (1210 WPHT)- As the 2020 Presidential Race progresses, the Democratic field continues to feature a coterie of candidates.

"Right now there is a clown car of candidates they don't know," said Poltico writer Holly Otterbein in an interview with The Rich Zeoli Show. "It's overwhelming."

According to Otterbein, this will change with the next debates.

"For the next debates, the criteria goes up significantly," Otterbein explained. "You have to poll at 2 percent and you have to have many more...individual donors.

"That means right now, we have about 7 candidates that are meeting that criteria."

"The race is where it's been for a while now, actually," said Otterbein. "Joe Biden is still out front. He's out front by a pretty large margin."

Otterbein addressed qualms about Joe Bidens' campaign, noting there are "definitely concerns" that Biden can take down Donald Trump.

"I think that is partly why he is a weak front-runner,” said Otterbein.

"By this point, Hillary Clinton had hundreds [of Congressional endorsements]," added Otterbein. "He has like 30.

"He's strong enough...he benefited from having a very low bar."

"Bernie Sanders is behind him in most polls...by a pretty large margin," said Otterbein.

According to Otterbein, "Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren are behind Bernie by a little bit."

While Otterbein called the candidates’ debate performances “boring,” she gave high marks to one of the female candidates.

"I thought that Tulsi [Gabbard] was very impressive...I don't know that it will show up in the polls."
