On this morning’s show, Rich commented on Donald Trump’s tax returns and the possibility of an employee of the Internal Revenue Service tapping into the Trump file to see his financial history. Rich explained why there is probably nothing there on the President.

“In all seriousness now, given all the people that hate the President in the swamp of Washington, D.C. as it’s called. Given all the people in the IRS that probably hate him, you’re telling me that if there was something in those tax returns that was damaging to the President, somebody wouldn’t have leaked it by now? Come on. Please. With all of the people in the United States Internal Revenue Service, all the people that work there that are Obama hold-overs, that are political hold-overs that are civil service employees that have just been there for 20, 30,  40 years. And I imagine a certain percentage of them hate [Trump’s] guts and can easily access his tax returns like they could easily access mine or yours with the touch of a button…You’re telling me now that if there was something in there that showed Russian collusion or something, they wouldn’t have leaked it and claimed whistle blower protection? You’re damn right they would have. And you know as well as I do that somebody has asked…The fact that hasn’t happened is a miracle or it’s a fact that there’s nothing there.

“Maybe at this point, it’s just a matter of [not giving in] because why should he? Maybe at this point, he figures, ‘I’m not going to give in to them because then they’ll want something else.’”
