Today, Dom started off the show talking about a new policy that will be enacted to start the new school year at LaSalle University, in which a particular dorm will allow students to bring dogs to live with them. Dom, in jest, wonders why it’s just dogs that are allowed, not cats or pet pigs and pontificates what it’d be like having dogs on campus. Also, Dom discusses a column in which a Philadelphia writer excuses the treatment of police by those in Nicetown during last week’s shootout, and reveals an FOP event to honor the 10 officers involved in the horrific ordeal.

Then, Dom honed in on the media narrative over the weekend, which tried to paint Trump’s economy as one heading toward a recession. Dom played a compilation of those in leftist media painting a scary and daunting picture of an inevitable recession, and a rebuttal by Fox News weekend host Steve Hilton in which he uncovered the way in which this type of negative and baseless reporting can lead to a recession because of, as Hilton puts it, the ‘fake economy is conjured up by panicky idiots and algorithms on Wall Street’ which react to false media reports.

Finally, Dom talks about a local issue: safe injection sites. Non-profit organization Safehouse had its first day in federal court today, hoping to open up a safe injection site in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. At the safe injection site, drug addicts are free to openly inject opioids while under medical supervision.
