Chad Dion Lassiter on Neshaminy Redskins Controversy

Chad Dion Lassiter, the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC), joins the Dom Giordano Program to explain PHRC’s decision on the nickname for Neshaminy athletics: the Redskins. This week, the PHRC ruled that Neshaminy can continue using the name ‘Redskins’ but must remove logos that ‘negatively stereotype Native Americans.’ The Neshaminy School District voted 9-0 Monday night to appeal the ruling, which also set forth more requirements in addressing bigotry. Lassiter explains the PHRC’s stance, and brings listeners in for an in-depth look into how the PHRC decides which complaints to investigate.
