'Conan' Gets A Purple Heart

Today, Dom started off the show by celebrating the Veteran’s Day holiday. First, Dom discusses a piece penned by Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard that explains what our veterans really deserve, that being for the United States government to stop sending them to serve in needless (and endless) foreign wars. Then, Dom discusses University of Virginia’s choice to remove a 21-gun salute due to fear of gunshots, and the potential for them to be misconstrued as a school shooter. Also, Dom discusses a story in the Inquirer that explains why local small businesses don’t hire veterans. But most importantly, Dom offers a controversial take on the news that President Trump will be awarding a purple heart to Conan, the hero dog who assisted in the capture and death of notorious ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Texan Sherriff Bill Waybourn on Border Control

Dom Giordano talks with Sherriff Bill Waybourn of Tarrant County, TX about the President’s consultation with Waybourn on border control and the collaboration with the Mexican government in reducing the flow of migrants. Waybourn also addresses the idea of honoring a dog with a Purple Heart and explains why a dog should not be honored with that particular honor. Rather, Waybourn proposes a separate honor for the animals who serve the United States Armed Forces.  Plus, Waybourn talks about the Chris Kyle bill and the endless war against terrorists.

Chad Robichaux | Founder of Mighty Oaks Warriors Program

PTSD is a horrible illness that many veterans face, and no other time than Veteran’s Day is it apropos to shine a light on the sad reality in which many of our citizens face. Chad Robichaux is an 8 tour special forces veteran, a 2 time MMA champion, but most importantly now the founder and leader of the Mighty Oaks Warriors Program, a PTSD recovery program that helps thousands of veterans every year. Chad joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss his approach in overcoming his own PTSD, and explains the mission of Mighty Oaks in fighting the illness.
