MontCo Parents File Suit Against Board Of Health

Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by discussing a lawsuit levied in Montgomery County by a group of parents, who hope to prevent an order by the Montgomery County Board of Health requiring all public and private schools to move to an all-virtual curriculum for a two-week period surrounding Thanksgiving. The parents wrote in the lawsuit, “we can no longer sit by while our children are used as guinea pigs in this virtual learning experiment. Virtual learning isn’t working.” Then, Dom turns it over to a discussion about the closings of two local Catholic schools, Bishop McDevitt and Hallahan.

Jeff Plate of Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Jeff Plate, drummer and founding member of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss how the Orchestra is accommodating due to the pandemic. Plate reveals that TSO is doing a special livestream event, which will take place on Friday, December 18th. The coming event will feature the band performing an all new staging of its beloved “Christmas Eve and Other Stories.” Plate discusses the founding of the band, and tells how they’ve achieved status as a legend in Christmas music. Also, Plate discusses the conception of the synchronized house lights that were made so famous with their song, “Wizards in Winter.” For tickets to the upcoming event can be found on Trans-Siberian.com.
