Dr. Jill Stein On Being Labeled A ‘Russian Asset’

Today, Dom Giordano was joined by 2016 Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein. Stein, pleasant as always, was a good sport when joking around with the allegations levied against her by Hillary Clinton, who in an interview this past week called both Stein and Gabbard ‘Russian assets.’

On the allegations, Stein told Dom, “This is a completely unhinged, ludicrous conspiracy theory with no basis in fact.” She continued, “This is not new, they’ve basically been throwing this at me ever since I became a threat. The Democrat machine, instead of answering the real crises that everyday people are struggling with…they’re just attacking those who want to actually deal with the problems.”

When asked whether cartoon characters Rocky and Bullwinkle, who spent a lifetime facing off against Russian characters Boris and Natasha, Stein ensured listeners that she’s never had dealings with Natasha and Boris, nor any Russians for that matter.

Dom also pushed Stein to announce whether or not she’s considering another run for president.

“Not this time around,” Stein said. “I thought it’d be a good time for me to step back because I’ve ran in the last two cycles. This is a good time to clean up my house and do a few things that have been deferred. It’s just that the fire of family, community, etc. has to be kept burning in your life.”

Stein also brought Dom and the listeners into the world of running a campaign as a third party candidate.

“Third parties, independents, political people are really in the target hairs right now. The establishment doesn’t want them. And they do all this fear campaigning against us, and that doesn’t help everyday people. Everyday people want more choices and are fighting angry at the political system.”

Dr. Stein and Dom also discussed Donald Trump’s win in the 2016 election, Hillary’s sour grapes, the topic of Syria, and the Green New Deal.
