Growing Greater
Friday, August 31st
The USDA defines a “food desert” as an area that is vapid of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthful whole foods, usually found in impoverished areas. This is largely due to a lack of grocery stores, farmers’ markets, and healthy food providers.  A renowned chef, Food Network star, and world traveler, Fredric Byarm has come back to his roots in Camden, New Jersey  in order to help grow a healthy agricultural community that will revitalize their neighborhood. Fredric chatted with Matt Cabrey, Executive Director of Select Greater Philadelphia, a council of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, about how Invincible City Farms grows food, teaches farming, and provides access to these healthy foods to our community.
