Dom Giordano spent a good chunk of today’s show discussing a story last week, in which The Hollywood Reporter blasted the Hallmark Channel for their lack of diversity in their holiday movies. Lesley Goldberg writes, “while other networks are viewing the holidays with an eye toward inclusion, Hallmark is delivering the dream of a white Christmas, just like the one's audiences used to know.” In the article were calls for all different types of diversity, including the demand for more non-Christian movies. "I think Christmas has become almost a secular type of holiday more than Hanukkah, which really does have more of a religious feel," Bill Abbott, who serves as CEO of Hallmark parent Crown Media Family Networks, told The Hollywood Reporter. Dom vehemently disagrees that Christmas is becoming a secular holiday, and explains why. Also, Dom discusses whether or not it’s acceptable to use a fake Christmas tree, and a change of policy by Egg Harbor Township schools to accommodate their one trans-gendered student.
