Philadelphia's Commissioner Deeley On Ensuring Legitimacy Of Election

The Dom Giordano Program
Monday, September 28th
Philadelphia City Commissioner Lisa Deeley joins the Dom Giordano Program for a discussion on mail-in balloting. Deeley, a Democrat, wrote to the state legislator a week ago warning of electoral chaos in Pennsylvania if lawmakers don’t remove a provision in Pennsylvania law that requires counties to throw out mail-in ballots returned without secrecy envelopes. Deeley argues that the provision is unnecessary and outdated, and a threat to invalidate more ballots than the margin that decided the 2016 election. Deeley notes that her criticisms aren’t partisan in one bit, but in an effort to insure the legitimacy of the upcoming election. Also, Deeley irons out details around drop boxes and voting centers in the city of Philadelphia. (Photo by Getty Images)
